Questions about how your Chief works.
Understand the system, the plans, WhatsApp, privacy and how SoloChief protects the week you planned.
Getting Started
Questions about setup, account creation and whether a download is required.
3 questionsHow do I create a SoloChief account?
Sign up at solochief.app with your email. No download is required — the Command Center runs in your browser, on any device with a screen. Free starts immediately: no credit card, no trial clock, no sales call. You are planning your first week within a couple of minutes of signing up.
Is there an app to download?
No app install is required for either half of SoloChief. The Web Command Center runs in your browser, and it is installable as a PWA if you want a home-screen icon. Pocket Chief, the WhatsApp layer available on Pro and Operator, runs inside WhatsApp itself — an app you almost certainly already have — so there is nothing new to learn how to open.
What should I do first after signing up?
Build your first Weekly Plan: choose one main focus for the week and commit to three outcomes that move it forward. That plan is what the rest of the system runs against — Today Focus pulls from it each day, Follow-up Tracker keeps promises tied to it from going cold, and Friday Review closes the week against it. Everything else in SoloChief exists to protect that one plan, not to replace it with a longer list.
Web and WhatsApp
Questions about the Command Center, Pocket Chief, the WhatsApp trial and Morning Brief.
5 questionsWhat is the Command Center?
The web home for planning your week, protecting today's focus and reviewing what happened — available on Free, with no time limit and no card required. It covers Weekly Plan, Today Focus, Follow-up Tracker, Parking Lot and Friday Review, the same core system every plan runs on. WhatsApp adds a faster, more immediate way to interact with that same week — it does not replace the Command Center.
What is Pocket Chief?
The same operating rhythm carried into WhatsApp on Pro and Operator — your focus, follow-ups and Morning Brief arrive there instead of waiting for you to open a dashboard. You can reply with quick commands to log progress, mark something done, or park a distraction, without leaving the conversation. Operator adds voice-note logging on top of that, so you can update SoloChief by talking instead of typing.
How do I connect WhatsApp?
From Settings, tap Connect WhatsApp and send the pre-filled message to activate it on your number. There is no separate app to install and no manual phone-number entry — the activation message does the linking for you, and Pocket Chief starts responding from that point on.
Is there a free trial for WhatsApp?
Eligible Free users can activate a one-time, seven-day WhatsApp trial, with no card required. It unlocks Pocket Chief commands and Morning Brief at the Pro-tier allowance while you stay on the Free plan — your web AI Chat allowance and Rescue Me limit are unaffected. Access ends automatically after seven days unless you upgrade to Pro or Operator. See the trial details on Pricing for the full breakdown.
What is the Morning Brief?
A WhatsApp message on Pro and Operator summarising today's focus, priorities and follow-ups due — sent proactively, not something you have to check for. Pro carries an allowance of up to 30 a month; Operator's allowance is unlimited. It is one of the WhatsApp commands covered by your plan's monthly usage allowance, alongside quick logging and status replies.
Plans and Usage
Questions about Free, Pro, Operator, usage and upgrades.
3 questionsWhat's the difference between Free, Pro and Operator?
Free ($0) covers the full web Command Center — Weekly Plan, Today Focus, Follow-up Tracker, Parking Lot and Friday Review — with 20 AI Chat actions a month and one Rescue Me session a week, and no standing WhatsApp access. Pro ($19/month) adds Pocket Chief in WhatsApp, 100 AI Chat actions and 100 WhatsApp commands a month, up to 30 Morning Briefs, and unlimited commitments and Rescue Me. Operator ($39/month) includes everything in Pro plus voice-note logging in WhatsApp, 300 AI Chat actions and 300 WhatsApp commands a month, and an unlimited Morning Brief allowance. See the full comparison for every capability side by side.
What counts against my usage allowance?
AI-assisted actions: AI Chat, WhatsApp commands and Morning Brief. Core planning and focus tracking on the web — Weekly Plan, Today Focus, Follow-up Tracker and Friday Review — are never limited on any plan. Most allowances reset monthly; Rescue Me resets weekly. Proactive WhatsApp messages are also capped at a flat rate across every plan, as a communication safeguard rather than a plan differentiator. See How usage works for the exact numbers by plan.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes, anytime from billing settings — upgrade, downgrade or cancel with no phone call and no retention flow. Your access follows the active subscription state reported by the billing provider: cancelling keeps your current plan's access until the end of the billing period you already paid for, rather than cutting off immediately.
Data and Privacy
Questions about data use, security, account control and deletion.
3 questionsIs my information private?
Yes. Authentication is handled securely, access to your data is controlled, and we do not sell your data or use it for advertising. This applies the same way whether you use the web Command Center, Pocket Chief in WhatsApp, or both together.
What does SoloChief remember about me?
Your commitments, follow-ups and weekly context — your current Weekly Plan, Today Focus history, open follow-ups and your most recent Friday Review — so you don't have to hold it all yourself between sessions. That context is what lets Pocket Chief respond with your actual week, and what Morning Brief pulls from each morning, instead of asking you to repeat it. The exact retention scope is still being refined — check Settings for current detail.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes, from Settings. Account deletion is available at any time, on any plan, and disconnects both your web Command Center access and any connected WhatsApp number.
Product Behaviour
Questions about planning rules, Rescue Me, follow-ups, Friday Review and future features.
5 questionsWhy can I only commit to three outcomes a week?
SoloChief is built to protect focus, not just track tasks. Three outcomes force a realistic week instead of an overloaded list that nothing actually finishes. Everything else you're tracking still has a home — Parking Lot holds ideas and distractions without letting them replace this week's focus, and the Stop List makes explicit what this week deliberately skips.
What is Rescue Me?
A structured next move for when the day breaks down — it helps identify what can still move instead of forcing the original plan or abandoning it entirely. Free includes one Rescue Me session a week; Pro and Operator are unlimited, since heavier weeks tend to need it more than once.
What happens to unfinished follow-ups?
They stay visible in the Follow-up Tracker until resolved, moved or deliberately closed — nothing quietly disappears off a list. Each one carries a due date so it doesn't rely on memory, and on Pro and Operator, WhatsApp reminders nudge you before one goes quiet. Unresolved follow-ups carry forward into the next Friday Review instead of being silently dropped at the end of the week.
How does the Friday Review work?
Friday Review closes the week against the plan you actually committed to — what got done, what didn't, and what pulled you off plan — rather than starting a new list from scratch. It also surfaces any missed follow-ups so you can see them during your review, and any outcome you didn't finish is captured as a note for next week's plan instead of getting lost between weeks.
What capabilities are coming later?
Communication preferences are planned but not yet available on any plan — it's about giving you more control over how SoloChief reaches you, not a new planning feature. Quiet hours are available now. Set them in Settings to pause proactive WhatsApp messages during the hours you choose.
